[ That's... strange. It would be less strange if the voice wasn't clearly Naruto's, and Sasuke's expression twists with amusement. ]

[This will probably never stop being weird.]

Ano... [What does he say? He feels like he's talking to himself. This is the first time Taco Salad has come out from under the bed and it's to do this? Well he has to say something.] How's it... going?

[ In retrospect, it's fairly entertaining. Sasuke had been slow to accept a cellphone, and it was always Naruto getting on his case about it. He'd forgotten about this awkward learning phase. Even if his hawk wasn't... exactly like a cellphone, Naruto's hesitation is painfully familiar. ]

Don't tell me you haven't figured this out yet?

[acknowledges]

[There's something about this old banter, being baited into a fight, that has never failed to bring Naruto around. It's one thing to know people think of him as an idiot, but just as it'd been when they were children- there's no way in hell he'll tolerate being shown up by Sasuke.]

[ Sasuke frowns, he's lost track of this conversation already. ]

[acknowledges]

The Coastal District of Caissa.

[It's okay Sasuke. He'll just assume you didn't hear him.]

[ First of all ???? and second of all... ]

It isn't as though I celebrate it.

[ And it isn't quite as memorable as Naruto's birthday... ]

Well I don't really celebrate mine either, but all the girls used to go crazy when your birthday was coming up.

[Sasuke, only you would forget being literally swarmed with gifts and affection.]

[penitents]

[ It doesn't matter if they aren't from the right people. ]

All of that so-called information is ridiculous, of course we aren't going.

[acknowledges]

But the knives!

[penitents]

I don't need any more romance in my life and if I need knives I'll go to the armory.

[acknowledges]

[Is he? It feels like more than that.]

I just don't really understand this place yet. They say we're here cause there's all these problems with one side using mana for one thing and another doesn't like it- but then we're here. And we've got this mana stuff, and we're supposed to use it for one side but not the other. It feels like I don't know what's really going on here.

[penitents]

[ Sasuke can understand this. It doesn't sit well with him, either, being drafted into a war they don't know the full details of. Sasuke had spent most of his young life blinded by others picking and choosing what to tell him. If the people won't tell them, then they have no choice but to go find it out on their own. ]
